This Wilmington kitchen was far too cramped, and there was not enough storage space. Preparing meals was far from enjoyable, and the homeowners knew they needed a change.
We helped the homeowners come up with a new layout, which included a wall demolition and brand new cabinets. They were thrilled with the design plans, and gave us the go-ahead to get straight to work.
After knocking down part of the wall, we created a half-wall between the kitchen and dining room. This will make conversation a breeze as the chef of the family prepares meals for everyone seated at the dining table. It also created a bar-top space for friends to enjoy a glass of wine and keep the cook company.
The client selected Brookhaven cabinets from Wood-Mode, in their gorgeous Edgemont Squared Recessed look. The Bright White painted finish gave the cabinets a modern, simplistic design, and helped brighten up the room and make it feel that much bigger.
Naturally, we wanted these brand new cabinets to be as functional as they are beautiful. We added drawers, pull-out shelves, and additional space-saving functions to practically every base cabinet. The client now has more space than they know what to do with (although we’re certain they’ll put them all to good use before long!)
To contrast the all-white cabinets, we installed Cambria Quartz countertops in Waterford. They blended perfectly with the tile backsplash. Plus, quartz countertops are some of the safest options when it comes to food prep surfaces, and require minimal maintenance to maintain their texture and luster.
