Open floor plans are incredibly popular. They create extra a feeling of space, making your home feel larger while improving the flow from room to room.
If you’re considering an open kitchen floor plan, just take a look at these before and after pictures from a recent project Holcomb Cabinetry completed in Media, PA. The difference is breathtaking!
The client wanted to knock down several walls, opening their kitchen up to the dining room. Not only does this make it easier to transport food to and from the dining area, but it makes socializing that much easier as guests can congregate around the table or island while still being a part of the conversation.
We stuck with a classic, two-toned design, installing white cabinets throughout the kitchen with a dark brown island in the center. The island allowed for increased countertop space and storage, thanks to the additional cabinets. It also has a second sink installed, to allow for washing vegetables and rinsing, and a space-saving microwave to free up even more counter space.
Cabinets were also installed in the pantry, giving the homeowners all of the storage space they could ever want. The countertops were made of granite; the countless natural quartz deposits really create a stunning visual and make this kitchen truly one-of-a-kind.
The finishing touch was the bumped-out stove area and hood, adding a dynamic focal point to the kitchen. The homeowners couldn’t believe their eyes when they first walked into their brand new kitchen. Oh…and did we mention there’s a gorgeous new bar area as well?
