Daryl Holcomb

Daryl has been on the job sites since he was 6 years old. Following his father, Don, around, he quickly became comfortable in the construction site environment. It wasn’t until high school that Daryl officially started working for Holcomb Cabinetry.

In his first few years at the company, Daryl was put in charge of simple tasks such as maintaining a clean showroom, running supplies to job sites, and serving as a conduit between the onsite foreman and his father. He also worked as a general laborer, assisting the more skilled laborers and craftsman when they needed a spare hand.

In 2001, Daryl went to college on a Division 1 athletic scholarship for his achievements in baseball. While at the University of Rhode Island, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In addition to his focus on accounting, Daryl chose to enroll in marketing and economics classes with the intention of understanding localized markets and how they fit into – and are affected by – the national and international communities.

With this new knowledge in hand, Daryl has spent the past five years helping Don devise a business model that would better position Holcomb Cabinetry to serve the local community. The result is the company you see today, working hard for the community and its clients with an eye on the future and advancements still to come.

Don Holcomb

Don Holcomb is the sole owner of Holcomb Cabinetry. Although he was born and raised in Delaware, he spent some time in Colorado, where he founded his first business in 1976: a siding and framing company.

After moving back to Delaware in 1982 to start his family, he took on a job at Cherry Kitchens. One year later, he incorporated his siding and framing business and began building about 100 homes per year for larger builders in Delaware. Most of his work focused on rough framing, decks, interior trim, and cabinetry, although his company of 45 employees also completely built six custom homes during that time.

In 1990, Don decided to shift his focus specifically to kitchens. He opened up Holcomb Kitchens – a full service installation company – averaging 35-40 custom kitchens per year. The company installed all cabinetry, countertops, floorings, drywall, trims, tile, hardwood flooring, and all wall removal/structural changes. They even installed structural steel beams when needed.

In 2012, Don changed his business model as well as the name of the company, and with that Holcomb Cabinetry was born. The new emphasis would be focused on designing and providing cabinetry and related kitchen and bath products to homeowners, contractors, and builders.

Michelle Pecorella

Michelle grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a competitive cheerleader for over 16 years – competing in various national and regional competitions throughout those years. Michelle brings a very creative and unique perspective to the table. She is a self-taught DIY guru who has an eye for design. She has a passion for making custom home décor pieces for friends and family.

In 2012, Michelle moved with her fiancé to Lewes, Delaware. Using her natural design capability and her interest in décor, she started her own company – Shipwreck Design. The core idea and business model is to take rustic building materials and antiques, refurbish and work them together to create a variety of home décor pieces for people in the local area. Being that she now lives in the Delaware beach area, many of her items have a very nautical theme. This talent and entrepreneurial mindset lend very well to her position with the company.

Michelle will play a vital role in the growth of Holcomb Cabinetry’s expansion from New Castle County to the rest of the state of Delaware, specifically the new showroom in Sussex County (Millsboro, DE). Her organization and attention to detail keep everyone on track and up to speed. Michelle is excited to learn and grow within our industry and we are excited to have her.
